New blocks are timestamped when added

The way data is structured in a blockchain makes it different from a typical database. In the former, information is collected in blocks. A single block comes with a certain storage capacity. New information gets compiled in a new block. Once a block is filled with data, it gets linked to the chain and the continues. The linking thus, creates a chain of data called blockchain.

In a regular database, tabular form is used to structure data. A chunk or block groups together data in a blockchain.

Talking about bitcoin, no single person, group, or entity has control over blockchain. In fact, its decentralized structure offers people collective control over bitcoin.
